LinDee Rochelle
"Her-story"
Rochelle's bio reads like the "Jack-ee" of all trades she is -- yet, everything she does ultimately finds its way into an experience, emotion, or line of her writing.
A poet and essayist most of her life, Rochelle found motivation in a 1994 Writer’s Digest magazine article, “Writing Life Begins at 40.” Taking that statement to heart, she established Penchant for Penning, a writing, editing and publicity service, and began writing professionally for regional magazines. Versatility always a key element in Rochelle’s life, her hundreds of diverse articles have featured antiques, off-roading, architecture, and business. She was recently surprised by F&W Publications, with her "Feel the rush article" about Northern California's gold rush era memorabilia and antiques, debuting their new Antiques & Collectibles Journal (March 2007 issue).
Rochelle works with book publishers in all three facets of her expertise: writing/ghostwriting; editing and PR. She counts Golden West Publishers in Phoenix and Infinity Publishing in Pennsylvania as two of her most fun and prolific clients. Rochelle appears as a conference panelist in Infinity's "Express Yourself ..." Authors Conference 2007.
Desert Jeep Tour Driver, Outdoor Market Radio Announcer, Commercial Photographer for a Harbor Marina, and Media Supervisor for a State Fair are just a few experiences that have provided keen observational skills and created innate insights into human nature, found woven throughout Rochelle's work.
Enhancing these qualities is a youthful background in the arts from classical dancer, to thespian, to poet. And what differences in her writing perspicacity would there be had she not been raised by a creative mother, complete with egg carton lamps and a penchant for the metaphysical? Education is certainly not all academic ...
Seeking insight into book publishing, Rochelle founded Women Writers of the Desert in 2001, in Phoenix, Arizona - now Women Writers Worldwide, Rochelle is currently (and permanently) based in San Diego, California. The global community-service Web site of emerging and established writers offers networking, publishing, and educational opportunities for women and all writers.
Write first for yourself ... only then can you write for others.
